Leyenda del tiempo

Hanne Tveter transforms the flamenco classic La Leyenda del Tiempo into an innovative jazz experience.

New single and music video released on Friday 1/12

After three captivating concerts in Spain this autumn, is Hanne Tveter back in Oslo where she invites us to warmer climates with a new music video and single. Tveter, who is internationally known for her musical explorations, now presents a personal jazz interpretation of the iconic flamenco masterpiece La Leyenda del Tiempo. In collaboration with a trio of highly current Spanish jazz musicians, Tveter takes this timeless gem into new territories.

La Leyenda del Tiempo marked a pivotal moment in the world of flamenco. The genius poetry of Federico Garcia Lorca with original music composed and produced by Ricardo Pachón, and the unique voice and duende of the legendary flamenco singer Camarón, further elevated the piece’s significance. Hanne Tveter now breathes new life into La Leyenda with an innovative arrangement by acclaimed pianist Daniel García Diego, bringing this flamenco classic into the realm of jazz.

The interaction between Tveter’s classically trained voice and García’s piano playing, with masterful contributions from Pablo Martin Caminero (double bass) and Shayan Fathi (drums), transform the original flamenco piece into sophisticated jazz.

Tveter’s version pays a tribute to the roots of La Leyenda, while challenging the musical boundaries. The song is a testament to the unlimited possibilities that musical innovation can bring to an established classic.

Accompanied by the Official Music Video, the single transports you to the cradle of flamenco, where each image becomes a canvas for the fusion of art, nature, and Spain’s rich cultural heritage. Created by Ana Solinis Audiovisual, the video was filmed in Sanlúcar de Barrameda and against the backdrop of the countryside of Chiclana, near San Fernando, Cádiz, the hometown of the legendary Camarón de la Isla.
